Chief Financial Officer
Michael is responsible for the oversight of all financial and accounting aspects of the company, including treasury, budgeting, accounting records, financial reporting and analysis, and income tax reporting. He is also responsible for the oversight of all contracts, including vendor and client relationships, and the client proposal process.
Michael started with Valley as Controller in August 2001. He was named VP Finance & Accounting in January 2003 and Chief Financial Officer in May 2004. Prior to that he served as Senior Manager for Ernst & Young, LLP.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Alabama, where he graduated summa cum laude. He is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of AICPA and the MSCPA.
Executive Vice President of Business Development
Scott is responsible for growing Valley’s Senior Services, Corrections Services, and Traditions Meal Solutions business nationally by directing sales activities both directly and through sales force. He creates and manages marketing materials, proposal development, and request for proposal and/or invitation to bid activity. He manages trade show activity and trade associations in the senior nutrition and corrections industries. Scott also maintains client relationships with existing accounts.
Scott began working at Valley in 1993 as Marketing Specialist to develop the first Marketing Department. He was promoted to Marketing Manager and later moved into the sales department. In 2001 he was made Vice President of Sales. Scott was promoted to Executive Vice President of Business Development for Valley’s Senior and Corrections Services and Traditions divisions in 2008. Prior to his work at Valley, Scott worked for national brands such as Kraft Foods, Coca Cola, and Nabisco.
Scott holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Belhaven College. He has been married to Janyce Parks Ball since 1990 and they have two children, Erin and Conner.
Executive Vice President, Administration and Traditions
Greg’s responsibilities include Human Resources and Traditions. Greg began working at Valley in May 1987 as a Programmer. He served as Vice President of Information Technology from 1996-2000. Over the years, his areas of responsibilities grew to include many support departments, such as Finance and Accounting, Human Resources, Legal Services, and Property Development. Oversight of the Traditions plant, Valley’s 150,000 square foot manufacturing plant that produces over 15 million meals per year, is the latest opportunity to expand his horizon.
Greg holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Southern Mississippi. He and his wife have two children.
Executive Vice President of Procurement
Elmer has been with Valley since 1994. He is responsible for the management of 100 million in annual spending, including all food and supply purchases in the company and the managing of the company’s distribution program. Prior to his current position, he served as Product Manager, then Director of Purchasing, then Vice President of Purchasing at Valley.
Elmer is a member of the Foodservice Purchasing Managers Association, a Central MS Boys and Girls Club Board Member, and a Copiah Lincoln Community College Foundation Board Member. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. Elmer is married to Treva Lowery McInnis, and they have a son, Sam Thomas McInnis.
Jim joined Valley in 1989 and is responsible for leadership, direction, and management of the company to achieve financial, operational, contractual, personnel and strategic objectives. Previously he served as Director of Operations, Dining Services from 1995-2000 and Senior VP of Dining and Health Services from 2000-2004. Jim was named President/CEO in 2004.
Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. He enjoys the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
Vice President, Human Resources
Terri is responsible for the strategic alignment of Human Resources, Training, and Risk Management with Valley’s corporate objectives, providing leadership in implementation of policies and programs related to benefits, compensation, recruitment, payroll, training, risk management, employee relations, and human resources information system (HRIS).
Terri has over 30 years experience in human resources management; has held leadership positions in human resources for two Fortune 100 companies and two large healthcare systems. She joined the Valley Services team in 2007.
Terri holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education from Delta State University. She enjoys reading and traveling and has one son, Greg.
George M. Ardelean
Executive Vice President, Dining & Health Services
George M. Ardelean is Executive Vice President, Dining and Health Services, for Valley Services, Inc. In 2006, George became responsible for all sales and operations in business and industry, education, and health services.
During his tenure as Senior Vice President, Valley achieved significant organic growth, posting managed volumes from $130 million in 1999 to over $200 million in 2005.
George joined Valley in 1997 as Director of Marketing. George’s responsibilities included research and development, concept design, purchasing, menu planning, cost analysis, and promotions for signature brand development. Additionally, he works on designs for new and renovated facilities.
George is actively involved in community fundraisers, chairing the Hinds Community College Annual Golf Fund Fun Fest, which raises money for scholarships and staff development. George is also a member of the corporate sponsor committee for the Mississippi State Hospital, which pursues corporate funding for the Mental Health Association of the Capital Area.
George currently served six years on the Board of Directors for the Society For Foodservice Management. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin, B.A.
Vice President, Information Services
Carl has been a part of the Valley team since 1995. As VP, Information Services, Carl leads his department in technology analysis and usage, project management, software development and system implementation. He develops strategic plans and manages the department to meet company’s annual objectives. Previously, Carl served as Systems Analyst and Director of Information Services at Valley.
Carl holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Southern Mississippi. He is married with four children.
